The term for an anonymous supporter could be "Caffè sospeso"... the italian practice of buying a (suspended) coffee in advance for someone else anonymously.

We're converting the 'Make this message private' option to 'Make this private' and hide everything, including the name.

Jijo Sunny: I'm going to reinvigorate this thread, because for several weeks I have been trying to ask admin through the chat function to help us change a donor's publicly listed name to anonymous/'Someone' and no one is following up with me. This person donated a very large sum of money, and didn't realize that the name she shared with us would be posted on our site. So let alone being able to change that for ourselves, we can't even seem to be able to ask admin to retroactively change someone's name to anonymous, or delete it from our feed.

ViolaCentric: Hi there! That's unfortunate. Our support team usually gets back within a few hours. I've alerted the team anyway. Sorry for the trouble!

Jijo Sunny: Just be careful with chargebacks. make sure if the person tags it as anonymous, you have to cover yourself if a chargeback happens.
Someone could start donating and requesting chargebacks maliciously and every chargeback is expensive!
I'd leave at the creator's discretion to allow or not anonymous donations. Or even to make someone anonymous afterward.

The memberships are not anonymous! They are posted. There sould be an anonymous option as some people don't want their emails posted.
Jijo Sunny
Jack: Hi Jack! The emails are never posted, only the name is. They also have an option to make it private.

planned
1) We do not list emails on the creator page unless supporters enter it as their Name, which is a rare case. Both name and message fields are optional.
2) This is excellent feedback, and probably the right thing to do. This came up several times during our brainstorming sessions, but we decided to show emails to keep our promise of "100% data ownership" to the creators. I agree with you that this can be solved with design. Marking this as planned. Thank you.
