Custom Domain

It would be neat if we could use a custom domain (like example.com) on our BMC page. It would make our page have a more professional and short website URL. Or something like help.buymeacoffee.com, a sub domain, is perfect too!

Any update or progress on this? This is a good way to have a special link for your community go when they want to sponsor you. Jijo Sunny

If we can use personal domain on our BMC page it will be perfect! to be able to choose the domain and maybe redirect members from our site to BMC personal domain (for example mydomain.community.com)
I am sure we will be able to earn more suscribers!

It'd so great if we can connect custom domain to our BMC page or link. I love BMC's simple, minimal and neat interface, fonts and display. I love to use it as a blog page in addition to a funding page by connecting to my domain like blog.mydomain.com or support.mydomain.com, etc.
It'd be quite beneficial for both BMC developers and users.

In the meantime, you can set up a url redirect that tells search engines the redirect is temporary (302), or you can use a url frame redirect to hide the BMAC url with your own. Your domain registrar or whoever handles your domain DNS should have these tools available.
Here’s a brief overview of the different kinds of url redirects: https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/384/2237/what-is-url-redirect-and-how-does-it-work/

Neostalgia Toys: URL Frame - Masked
URL Frame (also known as URL masking or URL cloaking) is similar to URL Redirect except that instead of redirecting the client to your web page, the web page is displayed in a frame from the server. With this method, the visitor's browser will display your domain name (for example, www.mydomain.com) and some other person’s website.
Sounds cool, right, but are there any cons?
- URL Frame is bad for SEO.
The problem with domain masking is that it creates duplicate content in search engines. Google and other search engines will identify your domains and masked ones as duplicates and decide to serve one over the other; and sometimes, it’s not always the one you want. In short, it is not possible to have a search engine presence for two domains showing the same content.
- Not all the websites allow masking.
It is possible to prevent URL masking at the hosting server level, so if your domain is giving Forbidden or other similar errors, then most likely, such measures are enabled at the target server side.
